Return to Athletic Shoes home page How to know when your athletic running shoes have worn out their usefulness.Do you know when your athletic running shoes are no longer serving your feet? Let's assume your jogging shoes are designed for motion control problems. If you see wear on the outsides of your running shoes, then your midsoles are already worn out. Look at the heels of your athletic shoes. If they are wearing down, then the midsoles of your running shoes have already broken down in the same places. So what does all of this mean for your feet and your running shoes? It means that the more the midsole of your athletic shoes breaks down, the less motion control you will get from your running sneakers. And the greater the chance of injury for the runner. Here is a running tip. Rest your running shoes on a solid, flat surface. If you are able to see any imbalance from the worn areas on the athletic shoes, then you should not run in them. Remember, if you continue to wear broken down athletic running shoes, then your risk of injury is high. Two things happen when running sneakers break down. First, the jogging shoes lose their ability to correct your gait problem. And second, the running shoes can actually throw your stride off and inflict running injuries.
