New Balance running shoes use a material from DuPont called Hytrel.

New Balance running shoes have more cushion thanks to a material called Hytrel - thermoplastic polyester elastomer.  Okay... just what does this mean?  The good people at New Balance running shoes explain it this way...

The running shoes use a material that forms an advanced heel-cushioning system that offers lasting resiliency.  The basis for these New Balance running shoes is a hollow component blow-molded from Hytrel.

The part compresses on impact of the running shoes.  The system absorbs shock and rebounds to its original form after every heel strike of the running shoe.  Runners have discovered that New Balance running shoes that use this system provide a very responsive feel.

The advantage to these jogging shoes is that the material maintains it resiliency with continuous impact.  The New Balance running shoes have a heel cartridge with a stabilizing outer rim.  This rim provides excellent motion control and support in these running shoes by New Balance.

Good running shoes should have spring in the forefoot.  Ensure that the forefoot of the shoe tilts up off the ground when the shoe is at rest on a flat surface.
