To do the wet test, remove your running shoes.  Wet the bottom of your feet and then step firmly onto a flat surface of tile or paper towels or even sand.  If you have a flat foot, you'll see a fat, complete footprint like a bear paw.  Motion control running footwear is suggested for flat feet.

If the front and rear half of your footprint is separated by a dry area, the runner has a high arch.  Cushioned running shoes are recommended for high arches.
