Return to Running Shoes Review home page Running shoes - review guide for a good fit. Here are some review tips when choosing new running shoes. You may need a slightly larger size for your running shoes compared to regular shoes. Running shoes models are always changing. It's important to have enough room in the toe box. Review tip - Push you heel against the back of the running shoes. You should have space at the front of the sneakers - about a thumb's width. Also, push your toes forward in the running shoes as much as you can. Review the rear of the running shoes. You should be able to slide your thumb between the heel and the back of the jogging shoes. Review these check points when you are standing in your running sneakers. Review the height of the running shoes and the heel counter. Taller jogging shoes should provide more stability for most runners. In some running shoes the lacing holes are closer together toward the front of the foot. If you have a wide foot, these running shoes may feel too tight. If this is a problem, then begin lacing your athletic shoes at the second pair of holes for a looser fit and avoid pinched nerves - a painful running injury. Comfort is all important in running shoes.
